Like Right Now. I don’t think I have ever seen two gallery openings that have made me want to get up and paint as much at these two (both at home and… outside). Check them out, I after the (double!) break.
Here’s a look inside Leontine Greenberg’s studio as she worked on pieces for her upcoming 2-person show ‘Unnatural Selection’ @ myplasticheartnyc with Lou Pimentel. Her new work envisions a natural world cleverly using man’s technology against him in a effort to rise up against his oppressive, habit destroying ways. Several of the pieces feature vividly augmented birds with new means of increased mobility or formidable weapons such as giant, oversized horns growing out of their heads. Greenberg offers a fantastic yet rebellious look at nature’s struggle to retain its serenity in the face of an unrelenting onslaught.

Double Break Bonus Break!
Between September 13th and 16th, 2012 the Stroke Urban Art Fair 2012 will take place once again at the Postbahnhof in Berlin, bringing hundreds of artists and more or less urban art related galleries together in one big arena…
Within the last two years, more than 60,000 visitors came to see artists and galleries from all over the world (Poland, Brazil, Austria, USA, Italy, France, Chile, Spain, Switzerland or the UK – just to name a few). Urban Art is now! In fact the huge variety of subcultural dynamics of the last 30 years in this melting pot is self-replicating. Terms such as “Low Brow”, “Street Art”, “Graffiti”, “Illustration”, “Graphic Design” or “Comic Art” are fused with classic notions of art as well as unconventional resources and are newly interpreted in a fresh, innovative context.
During the last decade, no other German art show could compete regarding growth and media interest, what made Stroke – Urban Art Fair become probably one of the major art fairs dedicated to urban art, graffiti and street art! So save the date and make sure to visit Berlin in September…
