Well that turned out to be interesting. After seeing my Facebook and Twitter blow up with people saying that the real Banksy had been unmasked as a Mr. Paul William Horner of Bristol, England, it appears the whole entire thing was a hoax.
The culprit? A website called PR Log – the story has since been removed. Jezebel wrote about it, Business Insider (??) covered it, twas all over Reddit and the Daily Dot.
So it seems as if this entire thing was made up. That or Bansky is such a genius that he pulled one over on us and actually did get arrested, his name is Paul Horner, and he planted the story of it being a hoax because he knew no one would believe the truth. Do you really want to know who Banksy is? I am pretty comfortable not knowing.

The following list is a conglomeration of things you need in order to be a successful street artist. This list isn’t final, it isn’t official, and for many people it may not even be accurate. But hey, it’s fun to think about these things, right?
1. Have A Message
What is it you want to put out there, what do you have the imperative need to tell people? Think long and hard about it because it needs to be something you are willing to risk safety and security for. Telling people just how mad you are about being broke doesn’t count. Street art, essentially, is about becoming a voice of and to the community. It’s direct and yet personal, so you better have something worthwhile to say.

The infamous Mr. Brainwash in London. Is a super genius Banksy spin off? Is he a complete fraud? I am guessing it is a little bit in the grey. Thoughts?
It’s hard for me to admit he is a complete copycat, he admits with his own name he very well might just be brainwashed. If I didn’t know any better I would say he represents a banksy-esc comment on street art itself. But what do I know.
Nick Walker doin’ his thing. Interesting article found in Bloomberg about Walker, apparently he is an old “spray-mate” of Banksy and just (as in April) made a bunch of money selling art. Huh.
