The following list is a conglomeration of things you need in order to be a successful street artist. This list isn’t final, it isn’t official, and for many people it may not even be accurate. But hey, it’s fun to think about these things, right?
1. Have A Message
What is it you want to put out there, what do you have the imperative need to tell people? Think long and hard about it because it needs to be something you are willing to risk safety and security for. Telling people just how mad you are about being broke doesn’t count. Street art, essentially, is about becoming a voice of and to the community. It’s direct and yet personal, so you better have something worthwhile to say.
Hey guys, back from my visit home. It went well- good to see the folks, my brother (twin… yes twin brother) and lil’ sister. Anyway, I plan on doing a fair amount of blogging today and I wanted to start it off with a little Slinkachu.. more to come later today.
Lifted from Slinkachu. There is something about this that just makes… it.. hurt a bit …less. He is quite good at that.
Don’t worry, IVES VS D4CKS is well on its way. But I need to do a little tweaking and in the mean time have an update from Slinkachu for you guys!
After the break.. But first…..
It is no excuse.. I know. I am sorry for that guys. Really.
Well good news is that we have gotten some good feedback on the gallery and look to keep it pushing forward.
Some news and other things after the break.
Artist Slinkachu has gained much appraise and renown for his few books that he has released including Concrete Ocean.
What he does is he makes little miniature characters and sets them up in a scene in a public area and then will photograph it and leave it. It is sort of sad because the characters are so very small, and so very beautiful -it is not too long before they are surely destroyed. Here is a good youtube video to go with it and here is his personal blog.
